Steamship Skjelskør in Flensburg
The Steamship Skjelskør was delivered to the owner "Dampskibsselskabet Skjelskør" immediately after the trial trip and put in service on the route between the city Skjelskør and the islands Agersø and Omø.
The ship is built for icebreaking and specially reinforced for operation in ice. The ship's half length from the bow is provided with intermediate ice-frames from main deck to approx. 0.5 m below the light waterline. The ice frames have the same dimension as the main frames. The keel is designed as keel-strake. On that time a very modern design that were not used on small ships until 1920.

Scotch fire tube boiler
The Steamship Skjelskør is provided with a coal fired Scotch marine steam boiler with 64 smoke tubes, 33 m2 heating surface. The boiler is provided with a corrugate fire tube. Forced draught in the funnel can be brought about by means of steam supply to the smoke uptake through fixed steam nozzles. The funnel is a simple tub without external insulating tube.

Klug's valve-gear has a horizontal eccentric rod suspended in a pendulum and the eccentric rod's end is by means of a curved link connected to the slide valve rod. Changing the pendulums suspension point changes the engine's rotation.
