Swedish Steamships

The last steamships from the Swedish merchant fleet disappeared quietly and not many seem to miss them. The only Swedish steamships that were the subject of nostalgic affection are a few surviving passenger steamships sailing in the archipelago, but even the coal-fired cargo steamships are well worth remembering. The Swedish steamships carried many kinds of loads. However, the coal and timber were totally dominant in the tramp trade throughout the steamship era.

If you travel to Sweden to experience the Swedish steamships, you should start in Stockholm, there are a dozen of steamships and half a dozing are in service throughout the summer.

Steamesteem means that I like steam boilers and steamships, paddle steamers as well as screw-propelled steamships.
